Hurray!!! I just finished knitting my three Christmas gifts with a few days to spare. I’m going to start next year's Christmas gifts in January. Hope none of my potential giftees gain any weight between January and December.
Glad to have the week of Christmas off. Maybe I can start clearing out that junk room so it can become my sewing/knitting/beading room. A friend of mine just bought her dream house and her sewing room/office is to die for. I’m jealous.

It Beginning To Look A Lot Like......
Thanksgiving is gone and Christmas is just around the corner. I finally put my tree and decorations up. Well actually my brother did. I'm not dragging that heavy box out of the basement. And stand on a stepladder in the cold to string up lights? I don't think so. If it were up to me I'd stick the wreath on the front door and call it a day! I have to finish, I mean start my shopping along with completing a few knitting gifts (a sock, dog bed and a scarf).
Enough blogging for now. It's time to get those needles flying.

Louisa Harding Trunk Show and Book Signing
Our ladies knitting group was invited to attend a trunk show and book signing for knitwear designer Louisa Harding. There was catered food which was great since a lot of people were coming straight from work. Louisa shared with us how her career began. She also had samples of her work which were beautiful. After her presentation, we were able to talk to her, purchase her books and have her sign them. I really enjoyed myself.
Here’s a picture of MK and SF at the trunk show.

Ladies Day Outing!
Greetings! It’s been a while since I’ve blogged.
We have a knitting/crocheting group at my place of employment. We meet twice a week to talk and knit or crochet. We decided to have a Ladies Day Outing. We met at our local yarn shop to knit/crochet and chat about anything other than work. The shop has an area up front where we can gather. We stopped for lunch and then came back to the shop for more knitting and crocheting. Of course we never leave without making a purchase.

I really had a good time. I’m glad we’re going to try to do this once a month.

It's A New Year!
Okay, it’s almost February and I’m making my first entry for the New Year. I give up making New Year resolutions. I never keep them. I do have a few “goals” that I would like to work on in 2009. The first goal is to clear out the “junk” room so it can be used as a craft room. Then I’ll have plenty of space to stash all of the yarn I plan to purchase. The second goal is to finish all of my projects (like these mittens that took four months).
The third goal is to make something for myself to wear other than hats or scarves. Maybe I’ll knit a simple sweater or a vest.
